KMM is currently run by Jagadguru Kripalu Higher Education Society (JKHES) and is affiliated with Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh (RMLA) University, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh. KMM is governed by all the rules and regulations set forth by the university for self-financed colleges. There are 205 colleges affiliated with RMLA university which offers approximately 25 courses, ranging from graduation level to D.Lit. etc., in all fields one can possibly think of. The university is approximately 160 km from KMM, Kunda.
KMM offers the following courses at present - Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Arts (M.A.). The Institute runs at an average capacity of 1500 students, increasing every year.
KMM is situated in Kunda, District Pratapgarh. This region is one of the most rural areas in Uttar Pradesh, India. Illiteracy is one of the many issues faced by the locals in this district. Therefore, the Institute’s main objective has always been to impart not just a basic education but of high quality to the female community who have always been deprived of any such opportunities.
KMM believes in imparting best qualitative education to the students through an advanced educational system and innovative ideas. Academics at KMM focus on a shared commitment to excellence, intellectual growth, arts, athletics, high standard of ethical awareness and community service. Depth and variety are added to the students’ lives by constant efforts in order to provide each student with a life-long learning experience.
Kripalu Mahila Mahavidyalay (KMM) was founded in 1998 as a self-financed, all-girls Institute. KMM started with Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) course in 1998 and added Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course in the year 2005. In the year 2008, two more courses were added - Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Arts (M.A.).
Since its establishment, the Institute has transformed from a basic local village school to one that can be compared to the likes of the city colleges. Much required renovation of the college infrastructure was initially done, and as the years progressed, campus facilities have been added one by one to provide students with an environment that is not only comfortable and friendly, but also motivates them to acquire knowledge in various ways.
To encourage education, the Institute has always charged the most minimal fee possible from its students, however in December 2010, our Patron, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj announced that the Institute will now be providing 100% free education to all students for courses directly run and co-ordinated by KMM.
